David Berke brings over 25 years of special events industry experience to the Empire team. David has worn many hats (President / COO, Managing Partner, General Counsel) over the last two plus decades as a founding partner of Colin Cowie Lifestyle. He has extensive experience in overseeing CCL’s special events, licensing, consumer products, publishing, television, speaking engagements and consulting divisions, including years of international business experience with exceptional knowledge of business and cultural practices in the Middle East.
Over his tenure as the head of the Colin Cowie Lifestyle bespoke events business, David ensured that CCL consistently delivered the ultimate luxury products and services to celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise and Elton John; industry leaders including Eli Broad, Peter Lynch, Len Blavatnik, Wayne Hughes and Jeff Zucker; and corporate clients including Dom Pérignon, Mattel, Audemars Piguet, Warner Bros, The Whitney Museum, and Kerzner International’s One&Only Resorts.
David regularly managed multiple simultaneous projects from inception through completion. He has been responsible for negotiating, closing and managing seven national consumer product licensing partnerships (Lenox, J.C. Penny, HSN, Blue Nile, Wal-Mart, Invitations by Dawn, and Appetizers To Go), three hospitality licensing / spokesperson partnerships (Hard Rock Hotels, Palace Resorts, Mira Hotel Hong Kong), five national spokesperson partnerships (Blue Nile, Electrolux, Wal-Mart, J.C. Penny, and Nestlé Purina PetCare), two international creative director projects (NetJets and Mira Hotel), two television shows (Everyday Elegance with Colin Cowie and Get Married) and 10 best-selling book deals.
