Sammy Kim began as an intern at Empire Entertainment in 2010 during his last semester at New York University's Stern School of Business. He then officially joined the Empire team in 2012 after graduating with a BS in Finance and Entertainment Business.
At Empire, Sammy specializes in business development and event production within a variety of industry sectors including electronics, technology, cosmetics, fashion, insurance and finance. Sammy has also focused efforts to build accounts with Korean companies operating in the United States as well as coordinating Empire's growth strategy in Korea with companies and government agencies.
Since joining the Empire team, Sammy has worked on event programs including Samsung's appearance at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, The Keep a Child Alive Black Ball Gala, Microsoft's Imagine Cup, the Telemundo Upfront, Internet Week and the Webby Awards.
Sammy also specializes in emerging talent and has booked musicians, DJs and entertainers for clients that include Samsung, Cheil USA, Bravo TV, and CoreMedia among others.
Throughout his life Sammy has engaged a deep passion for making and producing music. As a DJ Sammy has appeared at several NYC clubs including Marquee and Spotlight as well as cultural events at NYU. He promoted DJ Soulscape's Sound of Seoul project, DJ'ed for Jinbo's live performance, and also recently curated music for a Korean Fashion Show for the Hanji Metamorpheses Project which took place at the Korean Embassy of the UN.
Sammy has lived in Philadelphia, New York City and in Seoul, Korea where he served his military duties in 2006.
Sammy enjoys integrating his passions for music and familiarity with Korean culture with the global reach of Empire's event and marketing operations.
